5. Establishing Professional Relationship

After Consultation:

  • We decide if we’ll accept the case
  • We provide fee quote
  • We clarify next steps

5.2 Engagement Letter

Before starting work, we send:

  • Formal engagement letter

  • Clarifying fees and expenses
  • Stating payment terms

5.3 Power of Attorney

To represent you before courts:

  • We need notarized power of attorney
  • Must be valid
  • Defines our authority

6. Fees and Expenses

7. Your Obligations as Client

7.1 Provide Complete and Accurate Information

You must:

  • Not hide any information
  • Update information when it changes
  • Answer our questions honestly

7.2 Provide Documents

You must:

  • Provide all required documents
  • In timely manner
  • Ensure their accuracy
  • Inform us of additional documents

7.3 Cooperation

7.4 Important Decisions

9.2 Termination by Us

  • Illegal instructions
  • Conflict of interest
  • Loss of trust
  • Health or personal reasons

Procedures:

  • Prior written notice (14 days)
  • Return all your documents
  • Assist in transition to another lawyer
  • Protect your interests during transition

9.3 After Termination

Your Documents:

  • We’ll return all your original documents
  • We can keep copies for our records

Confidentiality:

  • Our confidentiality obligations continue
  • Even after relationship ends

Fees:

  • Remain due until termination date
  • Must be settled immediately

10. Limitation of Liability

  • Actions of other parties

10.2 Liability Limits
